Triangle Mutual Aid

Other Things We Do

At it's core, Mutual Aid is a way of living. We are replacing "rugged individualism", isolatation and fear with meaningful community and collaborative resilience.

Our growing core collective gets together regularly to share food and conversation. We check in on each other in our group chat. We give each other rides, show up for each other when there is a need.

Even as we learn to deepen our trust in each other and reliance on community, we work to expand our connections amongst the people we live and work around, across all artificial barriers such as gender, race, sexuality, or immigration status. "Our people" are those who put life above profit, for whom security is increased through expanded generosity and reciprocity. In this spirit we have been able to:

  • Provide ongoing resources to help with purchasing and transporting medicines and ensuring telephone service to people trying to survive while stretching one inadequate disability income.
  • Gather in ongoing solidarity with a refugee family to provide tools for safety, build a gate on the property, make a connection to legal services, and build friendship around fabulous middle-eastern food.
  • Pay for ongoing video conferencing service for a partner group engaged in community mutual aid and supporting long-term trauma healing.
  • Support occasional calls for support from organizing partners in the triangle and surrounding communities.
  • Contribute to short-term housing, food, security camera, and other needs for individuals involved in front-line activism in the area.
  • Organize online naloxone training and distribute the linked recording for all.
  • Participate in several previous mutual aid disaster relief efforts.
